13 Aug: Back to reality + Songs to remember

There is nothing much to say here. We woke up, we packed up, we went home.

The flight back was not pleasant as usual and this time round we were stuck in Dubai for over 10 hours. Sucky.

Shuyi went back to work and me, into the longest stretch of joblessness ever.

Songs to remember:

Every night when we finally reach the hotel, there is usually not much to watch on the television. We will find the TV channel that shows MTVs and leave it on. There are a few popular ones back then and we though it would be a good idea to remember them since I have this habit of linking songs to certain events.

James Morrison - You give me something

Don't make sense, love the feather dance troupe.

Gnarls Barkley - Crazy

Great MTV. Cool song. Here is the slow version of it. The MTV is so fresh!

Paris Hilton - Stars are Blind

We have to be fair to lil heiress here: the song is a decent radio friendly song. We find the MTV hilarious though: the entire MTV shows Paris totally raping the hunky dude. And that was it.

Lily Allen - Smile

This song was huge back then. We hear it everywhere. Shuyi loves the 'get back' thing in the MTV. Remind me not to get her mad.

Nelly Furtado - Say it right

Timberland rubs off some of his magic with the 'ehh' 'ehh' in the background. Nelly Furtado looks fantastic in this MTV with THAT fringe...

Christina Aguilera - Ain't no Other Man

What an elaborate MTV. Such a talented singer. She can really do the pin up look very well. Especially if you've seen her Candyboy MTV.

Fergie - London Bridge

Love the part when the london guard dance in the back. Super gay. Reminds me of the black dude who danced/slapped/kicked by Madonna in the Vouge MTV from wayyyy back.

Pussycat Dolls - Buttons

Now I don't really care for Nicole ZingerBurger and her crew of pussykats but this song is great just because Snoop Dogg is in it. One of the rare incidences where Snoop left out the mandatory smoke scene.
